#itsTaboo: Head-doctors and what not...

I am starting to work on a blog series about mental health called #itsTaboo. I know...I know. This topic is still taboo in some families, cultures, and even friend-circles. All the more reason to talk about it...right? Anyway, I found this video by BlackPublicMedia.org on YouTube and wanted to share it with you. It features black folks talking about the taboos and stigma associated with mental health and seeking therapy/counseling in the Black community. Many of you will be able to relate to these words, some might be offended by them,...and to others this may just be 'food for thought'. Either way, I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings about the video.

P.S. The video is about 8 minutes long or so with a short 1 minute lead into the topic. Check it out.

Much love,

Dr. Temeika
