We only have the moments.

I’ve tried living in the past, but it made me so depressed. There were too many things that happened to me...that I could not change. So I tried to change how I responded to them. But then I started trying to live in a way that assured that I would never be hurt again...to control my outcomes...my future. I may not have been able to control my past but by golly I was gonna orchestrate (aka control) my future. But this made me anxious...like really anxious. It was too much for me to try to control everything. And I was missing out on soooooo much life by trying to live this way. It took me the better part of 30 years to see the impact of my trying to overcome my past by controlling my future. But...I’m here now. I don’t have it all figured out and I don’t expect to any time soon.

What I do know is that my life...the fact that I am still here...is an amazing gift from God. Every day is filled with #moments to be lived and loved and maybe event enjoyed and certainly learned from. When I focus on the moments, I’m happier and thankful and teachable and open to God’s direction for my life. For this, I can only be thankful.

Today. I will try again to live in each moment that I am given. It is really all that I can do.

‭‭Have a beautiful #Sunday y’all!
