Book Review: Til' the Last Drop by Marquis Boone

I tell you the truth...there is nothing like a personal health crisis to bring us humans to a place of complete humility. Yep, the feelings of our own humanity...and seeming powerlessness to fix ourselves can indeed be overwhelming. BUT...y'all know this is my favorite word. But, the humility that comes with these types of life events also provide us with a wonderful opportunity to engage with the ONE who not only created us, but is able to FIX us. This "opportunity"...this "relationship" with our the thing that separates Christians and Christianity from from all of the other people and religions of the world. It is awesome...amazing...wonderful.

I've been catching up on my summer reading and had this book, Til the Last Drop by Marquis Boone on my reading list. I am a bit on the nerdy side, so I am a bit particular about what I read. But I was intrigued by this book because it was in the medical fiction category and I'm always game for a tale of disease. In this regard, Til the Last Drop delivers a powerful story. The book is a modern day rendition of a well know Biblical story, describing a rare medical condition that still affects women today. The author weaves a compelling story about a family that I felt as though I knew and wanted to see restored. The book is a great read...short and to the point.

Now that I've got that part out of the way...let me tell you why I loved this book. Simply put, this book tells a story of hope and faith and what happens when these meet humility and compassion...God's compassion. The family in this story experiences a devastating health crisis, one that could render them hopeless and distraught. They even suffer for a season...but only a season. They never lose hope. They never give up...even after they have exhausted all of their means to help themselves. God meets their need and acknowledgement of His ability to heal and restore them. In this instance, their faith is grown...our faith is grown. I loved it. You should check it out...especially if you need some encouragement..a reminder of who and whose you are...a boost to your faith.

That's all for now...

Love you much,
